2015-2016 Varsity All Star Scoring System

Varsity All Star, The JAM Brands, and EPIC Brands have worked together to create a Scoring System that will be used across all of our events during the 2015-2016 season. Having the ability for a team to compete on one system will greatly support the owners, coaches, choreographers and athletes next season.

VARSITY ALL STAR SCORING SYSTEM

Day 1 vs. Day 2 Competition

For all 2 DAY/2 Performance events, your FINAL SCORE will be calculated by adding 25% of your Day 1 Score and 75% of your Day 2 Score. With all Varsity Brands being on the same page, Coaches won't have to adjust their training strategy to reflect inconsistent weights. Also, parents will understand, going into every 2 day competition, how each performance may affect the outcome.

Final Score AND % Perfection

Point Deductions and Safety Deductions will always be subtracted from the Raw Score to give the Final Score.  The % of Perfection Score is the Final Score divided by the Maximum Score possible for that level. Ex: If a Level 1 team earns a score of 54 (out of a possible 55), then their team is 99% perfect!

Unsportsmanlike Conduct Deduction

When a coach is in discussion with an official, other coaches, athletes and parents/spectators must maintain proper professional conduct. Failing to do so may result in a 2.0 deduction, removal of coach, or disqualification.
